Upgrade the platform without losing the business logic.
Xivic upgraded the frameworks behind CIWC’s existing application, tested compatibility and coordinated the move to production. The upgraded system went live in September 2025.
The work to be done.
CIWC had an established application whose underlying frameworks needed to be upgraded. The engagement called for moving through the framework changes, checking existing functionality and addressing compatibility issues as they emerged.
The business requirement was practical: bring the application forward while accounting for the behavior its users still depended on. That made testing and release preparation part of the modernization work.
From implementation to a working release.
-
Upgrade and check the existing behavior
The scope addressed base frameworks in sequence, with testing and compatibility work around the application.
-
Review the system with the client
Client review led to approval to proceed with launch. Release timing was coordinated around the client's availability.
-
Prepare production and cutover
The team prepared the live environment and coordinated the final database copy and transition.
-
Follow through after go-live
The system went live in September 2025. Further fixes and polish continued afterward.
What must keep working during an upgrade?
For CIWC, the release combined framework changes with compatibility testing, client review and a coordinated database transition. The upgrade was complete when the application was in use, with follow-up fixes addressed after launch.
For another platform, the starting point is its critical user tasks: which behaviors must survive the change, which systems depend on them and who can accept the release. Those answers define the test plan and the production transition.
