Custom Software & Applications

Build the application your business needs to run the work.

Create customer portals, internal tools and software products around a specific job. Connect product decisions, experience design and engineering so the first release has a clear purpose and a workable operating model.

When this matters

When the workaround has become the way the business runs.

Spreadsheets, shared inboxes and disconnected tools can keep an unusual process working for years. They can also hide business rules that a new application must preserve. We define a small, complete user task first, then build the interface, rules, permissions and integrations needed to carry it through.

What the work includes

A product and technical definition

Define the essential user journeys, business rules, roles and system connections. Establish what the first release must accomplish and how it will be accepted.

A working application

Build the interface, application logic and required integrations in reviewable increments. Include access controls and the administrative tools needed to operate the product.

Release readiness and ownership

Test the important paths and failure cases, prepare deployment and document support responsibilities. Use early feedback to inform the next release.

Agree the repository, environments, deployment instructions and support responsibilities as part of the scope. Your team supplies the business rules, names the people who can approve them and decides which exceptions must be supported in the first release.

How we measure progress

Define the task the application must complete and the conditions it must handle. After release, review completion, actual use and reliability before adding more scope.

When to start elsewhere

Product Strategy

If the users, essential task or first release are still disputed, resolve those product decisions before engineering.

Systems Integration

If the application exists and the problem is a handoff between tools, the missing work may be an integration.

What can your current tools no longer handle?

Show us the process, the exceptions and the systems it touches. We will assess whether a custom application is the right next step.
